These fabrics are printed with Australian Aboriginal art in beautiful colours and patterns. Each fabric is unique and stunning. The colours are earthy, bold and vibrant.
A single pack makes ten fabric covered hearts and includes 10 fabric fronts and 10 plain felt backs as shown. Each pack features one fabric and there are four different fabrics to choose from, featuring the following artworks:
Bush Tucker by Julie Paige
On Walkabout by Karen Taylor
Meeting Place (Water) by Louis Enoch
Women Gathering at Waterholes by Merryn Apma
Because of the intricacies of the design, each heart is different and unique, as you can see from the photos.
The gorgeous cotton print fabrics are backed onto pure wool felt, so you just pair a fabric covered front with a plain felt back, then stitch and stuff as usual. Fraying shouldn’t be a problem because the cotton fabric is fused to the felt, although you might occasionally get the odd stray thread (cos nobody’s perfect, right?)
I’ve made these heaps of times and they are so pretty and fun to make.
Fabric is pure cotton and felt is 100% pure wool. A royalty from the sale of these fabrics was paid to the artists, and you can feel comfortable knowing these hearts celebrate the culture and artworks of our First Nations people.
