Community Hearts

What are Community Hearts?

Community Hearts are the foundation and backbone of 1000 Hearts. They are made by Heartists in our community and offered for free to anyone who needs some kindness.

There are many people around the world making our hearts and sharing them at no cost to offer someone a symbol of hope, connection, courage and comfort. They are shared anywhere and everywhere, as the world needs so much kindness.

Hearts made using the 1000 Hearts template, resources and branding should always be offered for free, and not sold. This continues our message that kindness is freely available to everyone and there is still pure-hearted goodness in the world.

What's OK & What's Not

So...What's the Community Hearts Program?

Small acts of kindness are powerful and make us feel good. 1000 Hearts has a simple aim - increase the number of these small acts, thereby making the world a better place.

The way we do that here is by sharing handmade pocket hearts for free. You can make your own hearts and share them in your own community, or you can contribute to our Community Hearts Program.

Our free Community Hearts are made by Heartists who choose to send their completed hearts to me for distribution. Up to 50 hearts can be ordered through the 1000 Hearts online store, while larger numbers can be requested via email.

1000 Hearts funds a small group of volunteers to make hearts for this program, but there are never enough hearts to respond to all requests. The Community Hearts Program allows you to contribute free hearts in a way that suits you.

How You Can Contribute

Shout out to Mads!

Shout out to Mads

This is my daughter Maddie (Mads). She's an amazing young woman and a talented artist, too. Original artwork on my website and in 1000 Hearts resources and products is all her work.

Maddie also volunteers her time, between rock climbing, university studies and working as a teacher's aide, to sort and package ALL our community hearts. She takes such care to wrap them all with love to make sure they are shared with our message of kindness. You have to see her process to understand how much love goes into it.

Thanks Mads x
